Our take

The Inpulse 500 feels well-built with a metal chassis that gives it a premium heft. The Beatmatch Guide is genuinely useful for learning—the colored LEDs light up to show when your beats are aligned. The pads are rubbery and responsive, and I like having dedicated filter knobs per channel. The included DJUCED PRO software is surprisingly full-featured, though I mostly use Serato Lite. My main complaint is the weight: at over 10 pounds, it's not ideal for portability. Also, the crossfader is not replaceable, which might be a concern for scratch DJs. Overall, it's a solid controller that offers great value for the feature set.
